Welcome to another double header of live action this summer Saturday.
First up, Grant McCann’s senior side host Manchester United’s Under-23s at the MKM Stadium this lunchtime, before the Under-23s travel to face Bridlington Town later in the afternoon.
A strong City XI were beaten by a late Will Grigg goal at Sunderland on Friday evening to lose 2-1 in the club’s final public pre-season outing before the Championship campaign gets underway at Deepdale a week today, and McCann will hope for a better outcome in terms of the result at least against United’s youngsters.
The game will be played behind closed doors but we’ll endeavour to bring you updates and reaction from the game before we turn our attention to the seaside for the 3pm kick-off at Queensgate.
City are gearing up for their new campaign in the Professional Development League, and will hope to make it three straight wins after victory at North Ferriby was backed up by a 3-1 success at Pickering Town on Wednesday evening.
