Police officers and ambulances were spotted in Weston-super-Mare this afternoon (Saturday) dealing with a “medical incident”, the force has confirmed.
Emergency services vehicles gathered in St James Street in Weston-super-Mare shortly after 2.30pm this afternoon (August 14).
Pictures from the scene showed multiple vehicles gathered at the corner of St James Street and Regent Street, near the seafront.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that their attendance was in relation to a “medical incident” being handled by paramedics and that officers were there to support them.
The circumstances of the incident are not believed to be suspicious and the incident was not connected to any nearby businesses or premises.

The statement from Avon and Somerset Police says: “We were called at 2.40pm to support the ambulance service with a medical incident they were dealing with in St James Street, Weston-super-Mare.
“Circumstances not believed to be suspicious – purely just helping paramedics as it’s a busy public area. Doesn’t appear to be any connection with any business/premises either.”
