A further 377 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Somerset in the last 24 hours – while one more person has died.
The new death was reported in Bath and North East Somerset in Sunday’s (August 8) update from Public Health England.
Meanwhile the area also saw the highest number of cases once again, with 88 more positive tests – up slightly from 83 yesterday.
There were 68 in South Somerset, 65 in Sedgemoor, 62 in Somerset West and Taunton, 55 in North Somerset and 39 in Mendip.

It brings the total number of cases in the county to 57,045 since the start of the pandemic.
The number of positive test results in each area since the pandemic began is recorded below, with new positive test results in brackets.
- Bath and North East Somerset: 13,550 (+88)
- Mendip: 5,250 (+39)
- North Somerset: 15,115 (+55)
- Sedgemoor: 7,273 (+65)
- Somerset West and Taunton: 7,923 (+62)
- South Somerset: 7,934 (+68)
Nationally, the Government said a further 39 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 130,321.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 155,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
As of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 27,429 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.
