After what feels like a mammoth wait since Hull City secured promotion from League One, the Championship kicks off this evening with Bournemouth taking on West Brom.
Grant McCann and his Hull City players will have to wait a little longer for their opener with the visit to Preston North End tomorrow afternoon.
It’s been a positive summer for McCann, who, despite being forced to work within a raft of transfer restrictions, had so managed to add six players with a seventh – in the form of Manchester City’s Matt Smith – expected to be confirmed ahead of the game.
Smith has been training with the Tigers this week and would need to be registered before 12pm today (Friday) to be eligible to play a part at Deepdale.
