Hull City will continue to monitor Tom Huddlestone’s fitness in the coming days before making a decision over his future.
The 34-year-old has been without a club since leaving Derby County last summer, and has spent the past two weeks training with the Tigers at their Cottingham training base.
Huddlestone played his first 45 minutes of football for City against Scunthorpe last month before notching up 70 minutes in the 2-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday, scoring the opener with a lovely 25-yard effort.
McCann says he’ll sit down with the former England international in the coming days and assess where the two go next.

“Initially when I spoke to Tom about coming into training, he actually contacted Tony Pennock our first team coach and it was a no-brainer for us to bring him in,” McCann told BBC Humberside.
“He’s a Hull City legend, he wanted to come in and get fit, he’s been working hard by himself for near enough the last year, year-and-a-half.
“Me and Tom have had really open and honest conversations every time we speak, we see each other every day but at this present time, there’s no real change on it.
“We’re monitoring Tom every day, we’ll see.
“Once I sit down with him and get a feel for how he’s feeling in regard to where he sees himself, we’ll have a discussion.
“At this present time, Tom’s happy with the situation. He’s really enjoying the everyday training
“He’s coming in and working very hard, he’s joining in with every single session, gym sessions, meetings we have he’s in on them because I think his stature in the game, his knowhow has been great for the players for the last couple of weeks.”
