Mikey Lewis’ stunning breakthrough year is set to continue after earning a call-up to the England Knights squad.
Hull Live can reveal that the livewire halfback has been rewarded for his superb form after being selected as part of Paul Anderson’s Knights squad to take on Jamaica at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on October 15th.
Lewis has produced a number of memorable moments during the Robins’ exceptional season and will now get to impress on the international stage at the age of 20.
It adds to a whirlwind year for the homegrown star. Lewis has already played, and scored, at Wembley this year while on loan at York City Knights and has produced moments of brilliance for Rovers throughout the campaign.
Most memorably, he scored a crucial try as the Robins secured their place in the semis, nailing a stunning chip and chase in the victory over Warrington Wolves.
Now he could get the chance to pull on an England jersey when the Knights take on the Reggae Warriors next week.
Lewis scored seven tries and assisted seven more in ten Super League appearances this term. His emergence on the scene has been one of several high points for the club during one of their greatest seasons in recent times.
Now, he will represent the club on an international stage as part of plans leading into the World Cup next year.
